At a recent conference hosted by the Spanish Logistics Center (CEL), 73% of logistics directors expressed concerns about their teams’ lack of knowledge regarding artificial intelligence (AI) and its impact on supply chains. Despite 84% of executives expecting AI to boost productivity, only 8% have concrete plans for implementation. Experts emphasized the need for technological talent and cybersecurity training, as well as the role AI can play in creating more sustainable supply chains that can adapt to rapid market changes.
Additionally, while AI offers clear benefits, the lack of skills and strategies remains a significant barrier to its adoption. Many logistics professionals are still not fully aware of AI’s potential and practical applications.
Companies were encouraged to work together to develop resilient, flexible supply chains capable of handling market shifts. This transformation requires not only advanced technology but also a cultural shift toward greater innovation in business operations.
Finally, investment in cybersecurity and continuous training were highlighted as essential for businesses to maximize the advantages of AI while maintaining operational safety and sustainability.
